Are almost all of the ESL students ARABIC speakers? Or are there some other languages mixed in there occassionally as well?

Dearborn is intriguing again to me...as a Michigan native...who wouldn't mind getting back near home. As a person who teaches ESL to non-native speakers, even better!

It's making me a bit curious about the options in Dearborn now

Dearborn has a very large Arabic population. And in certain areas, you'd swear you were in the Middle East because the majority of store signs are in Arabic. Not to say that's bad. There are nice and of course not so nice areas. Do your research thoroughly.

AFAIK the ESL speakers are more or less Arabic.

Facebook has various sites. There is Downriver and friends. I sold it on Facebook - Downriver. I imagine there is something Dearborn specific. Dearborn is really separate form Downriver. Kind of its own area. There is also a neighbors or something like that site.. Not sure if it is Facebook or elsewhere. My dad uses it and I have heard other people mention it all over the country. Apparently it is some means of connecting people who live within a certain distance of each other.

Kroger's usually have community bulletin boards where you can advertise such things. Sometimes places like CVS do too.

I am not sure whether Dearborn has a newspaper. Probably.

You could contact the high school art teachers and tell them you offer private lessons. They may have a promising student who would benefit from private lessons. I think that is how we found a private trumpet teacher for our son. (Referral by the Band teacher).
