I'm just moving back to Michigan after a year in MN and wondered if anyone could update me on the construction around the Ambassador Bridge. Last year, it was terrible when I tried driving to Windsor from Ann Arbor. Does anyone know if things are better now or what the best routes are? I checked with AAA and they didn't have a lot of detailed info about construction around the bridge on either the US side or the Canadian side.

I'm not sure when last year you ran into construction , but I have to assume it was during the '' gateway project '' where they had that area tore up and closed for months . They finished that project basically , and it should be smooth sailing now . Keep in mind though that Michigan joined a handful of other States where a birth cert . / driver's license is no longer acceptable to return to the U.S. from Canada . You must have a passport or a ''enhanced'' driver's license /State I.D. from the Michigan Secretary Of State I believe the cost is 35-45 bucks and serves as a driver's license/passport to Canada, Mexico , Carribean only

The I-75 is open again. Things move along very well most o fthe time. There is still occaisional lane closures here and there that tie things up but no where near as bad as it was.
