All I have to go off of is a Google Earth feed, and it looks like 696 through Southfield is slow. Any other good routes?

Well, as of last weekend 696 was closed from 275 to Telegraph, but I'm pretty sure that'll be taken care of this week (I think they're just repainting bridges).

No real reason not to take 94 right into downtown and take 75 up though. No real construction to speak of there last night.

Otherwise you get off 275 a the normal 696 exit and they funnel you up onto 12 mile and you can take that all the way across. After a few hours on a bike I don't think an extra ten minutes would make that big of a deal, would it?

You could take 696 to Southfield Fwy and that to I 94.
You could also take Southfield fwy to 96 and keep on it until it turns to M14. Take that to 23 south and blend into I 94 around Ann Arbor.
