Bloomfield Hills has a nationally recognized school system. Troy does not.

I grew up less than a mile from Eastover, but went to private school. Both Troy and Bloomfield Hills are great cities. However, Bloomfield's test scores are higher and is a very wealthy and safe area.

Both School Districts are great, but if you want to look at comparing test scores between the two schools (Michigan ranking by MEAP SchoolDigger.com - School Rankings, Reviews and More - Public and Private Elementary, Middle, High Schools)...

-------------Schroeder--------Eastover
2005-06------ 11-------------- 141
2006-07------- 1-------------- 197
2007-08------- 13------------- 308
2008-09------ 154------------- 102

Test scores usually vary through the years, but normally, Troy scores higher than Bloomfield Hills (except for last year). Personally, when I was younger, I went to school in Bloomfield Hills. However, If I had a kid, I would rather put him through the Troy School system. I hate to generalize, but there are many spoiled brats in the Bloomfield Hills district.

Student achievement in Troy is among the highest at state and national levels. Schroeder is a nationally exemplary school.
