Default 85 grams of carbs per day..........No more than that

that would be per day not per meal.......

That seems like a really low number for the day. But if you can do it, good for you. Most diabetics are told to keep between 30 & 45 per meal. Plus exercise is the key. I have been keeping mine to this range and have lost over 60lbs.

I was told by the diabetic educator to keep it to under 90 for the day. And that's maintaining, not losing.

I think as i mentioned above you just have to exercise with any weight loss program. Watching the carbs is just part of the whole picture. But what ever works for you just keep it up.
