Most of us have Type 1 but this might work for me since i lost my pancreas to pancreatitis almost 20 years ago. I'm told I have a combination of 1 and 2.

Interesting reading indeed!

We are in the same boat: some 20 years ago I had some type of bacterial illness that damaged my pancreas, resulting in '1 and 1/2' type diabetes. Now, I am fully insulin dependent.

This information has been out there for about a year. The person who originally developed the system did so out of personal motivation: his son is a type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump and he was growing weary of waiting for a closed loop system to be developed.

I've used a pump for more than 30 of my 45 diabetic years, and now use the CGM for improved control. When I first watched the video about this last year I was so excited...it may be about as close as we ever get to a "cure".
