That indicates a preference for the taste of the diet product, not a desire to save calories, in my opinion.

No but it makes me crave more diet soda. I only drink it on occasion, but when I do I want a bottle the next day, and the next, and the next. So i don't drink it very often. When I was much younger I would succumb to it, but age has steeled my resolve.

No. But if I drink too many, I find I don’t like them as much. Try drinking flavored sparkling water as a sub.

If I eat sweets, I often crave more. But I din’t get that craving after drinking a diet soda.

For me, it's kind of both. If I'm going for a splurge in my meal, why would I want to consume hundreds of extra calories of sugar water on top of that? I don't drink full sugar pop anyway, but it's a pretty easy choice.

I guess even talking about it makes me crave it. Today I bought a bottle and I haven't had any in months. I blame this thread.

Hmm, I always thought that regular Coke tasted better than Diet Coke. Not sure why anyone would desire the taste. Diet Coke has much less taste than Coke in my opinion.

It makes me crave food. I can drink a regular Gatorade or Vitamin Water, but if I drink diet my food craving is HUGE. I hate the taste of diet anyway, so if I'm thirsty I drink water or the occasional Vitamin Water.

I don't, either, but I guess some people like it. I have to watch my sugar intake because I apparently inherited dear old Dad's tendency toward Type 2 diabetes, but if I AM going to have something sweet occasionally, it's going to be real sugar. The fake stuff tastes bitter and weird to me.

I imagine, though, like anything else, you can develop a taste for the fake sweeteners and grow to like it.

Its the carbonation and caffeine for me. I agree the taste isn't that great. Its that fizzly burny "ahhhhhhhhh" that comes after a good swig.

I gave up drinking diet soda in 2012. I took a sip of my mom's recently to see if I was missing it, nope! Had that awful after taste that I never noticed when I was drinking 3 cans a day. I only drink plain seltzer, water and 2 cups of coffee a day
