Just a random share of mine. What healthy changes have you made that helped others out in getting healthy too?

I eat healthier than the s.o. and on his check up after over a year of my cooking he put on 10 healthy pounds and his doctor said he was healthier looking than ever. They also said his blood work and blood pressure was better. He was very thin (5'11'' - 135 when I met him)

I thought that was pretty nice. And all it took was less junk food, more veggies and a little exercise time on our bike.

My little sister is a junk food junkie and she hates veggies (and most fruits). She likes fruit snacks, meat, and bread or pasta or rice. But a few years ago she moved back to the area and spent 6 months living with me. During that time, she actually tried new vegetables and fruits. She has improved greatly.

She used to eat an occasional banana, grape, apple or carrot. She avoided all berries, most stone fruits, and all vegetables outside of cucumbers and carrots.

Now she buys (and consumes) citrus fruit, apples, peaches, plums, jicama, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, bell peppers, cabbage and almost any kind of lettuce. She calls me for advice occasionally to figure out how to pick a peach, and we go to the farmers market together.

Even more amazing, sometimes she craves fruits and veggies!

On the flip side, one of my friends goes through waves of going vegan or vegetarian. At the moment she eats veggie 3-4 days a week and meat on the other ones. We trade recipes, and she encourages me to eat more meatless meals.
