I'm a 45 year old male
I eat red meat.

I eat very high quality steaks, hamburger, bacon, chicken and pork.
I eat a fairly large amount of cheee.
I hardly eat or drink anything considered sugary.
I do enjoy whole milk and use real butter and avoid chemical spread.

I don't smoke, my cholesterol is normal, colonoscopy was normal five months ago.

I run approx 40 miles a week and feel great.

I eat what I want to eat and keep my weight in check.

Eat red meat and die.
Don't eat red meat and die.

Red meat eaters tend to smoke?

Wow, generalize much? I'm a red-meat eater, and I care about my health. So your statement is false. I also don't smoke. But I used to smoke, back when I was a vegetarian.

Geez guys, I said I eat lots of red meat. Why would I be a red meat hater? Thing is, most people that eat a lot of red meat also tend to neglect their health. I am not one of those, but there is a correlation between red meat eaters and unhealthy practices such as smoking or eating other bad sugary foods. It's like how exercise is said to help us lose weight--it's not the exercise itself, rather, it's the fact that people that exercise also tend to eat a better diet. It is not very common to find people that exercise AND eat junk food every day (unless you are trying to bulk).

Does this make sense?

Generalizations are never good. Your posts are confusing, you seem to be saying one thing while meaning another. I also think if you do not switch up your diet at some point you are going to suffer some major consequences.

BTW, that info graphic is great.
Simplified, but hits on the major points.

Well here's another idea, since your handy dandy chart only has two possible "diets" on them..

And oddly, your chart compares apples with oranges...

Atkins is represented by a total number of grams of carbs, with no indication of how many total calories per day that number of grams comprises.

Traditional is represented by a total number of calories comprising the average carbs, with no gram information on the recommended number of carbs.

So - you have

Atkins = 20
Traditional = 55%

AnonChick = Green.

I win.

doss1.. Thanks for showing the explanation. I have been thinking along these lines for years. As many that agree there will be as many who disagree.

You can't just disagree... you have to feel that you've won? Wow.
