OK, week 1 - started walking - my husband and I are walking home each night to eat dinner and then walk back. It's a total of 2.8 miles and feels good.
I need to add something to keep going now like swimming or Zumba during the 45 minutes we are at home getting dinner ready.
My goal by the end of August is 30 pounds.
For week 1, my eating has improved. Not perfect but improved.
Forget the goal of 30 lbs. It is unrealistic and it will set you up for failure. Just keep doing what you are doing. Watch your caloric intake. Eat whole fresh foods as much as possible. Try and avoid simple carbs and sugars. Up your exercise intensity as you go by adding more mileage or going faster, or going uphill or even running. The weight will come off, but it takes time. You cannot lose weight in a healthy way and expect to keep it off if you lose it fast. 30 lbs by August is WAY too fast. Strive for 2lbs a week. That is optimal.
1-2 lbs per week is more realisitc. To try and loose 30 lbs by August is too fast and not healthy. If you set yourself up to loose 30 lbs by then and then you don't reach that goal you will be discouraged.
I'm writing down how I feel after I eat something too - that helps!
