Everything I read says beans suppress appetite and fill you up, because of the fiber and decent amount of protein.
But for me, beans make me hungrier
Is there anyone else like that?
I LOVE beans, and when I eat them can't get enough. You'd think they were Chinese food
, the way I'll go back a half our later for more beans.
People always praise the fiber and protein in beans but -- BY FAR -- they still are mostly carbohydrate. I'm talking about the most common beans (Pinto, black, kidney, garbanzo, etc -- not soybeans).
I never thought of myself as super carb sensitive or anything like that. I mean I like bread and french fries as good as the next person, but I'm not really addicted to them or get any particular cravings about them.
So I wonder why beans make me eat more. It's a bummer because I've sort of given them up because of that.
They seem to be such a perfect food for weight control, but for me they have the opposite effect.
