I watch what I eat but I have cut out soda both diet and regular out completely. I stopped in December. I now drink water with all meals and snacks. I don't even have it in the house and if I have company for dinner the choices of beverage I offer other than wine or beer is water or homemade Iced Tea or lemonade.
- Diet or low fat versions of anything.
(not counting food naturally considered that but the processed food types and dairy)
- large amounts of sweets - just cant eat it anymore. it doesn't taste good to me. The package serving size is more than enough.
I always watch what I eat though in a way. Its just become a habit, I don't really notice it.
Soda cut that out over 30 years ago and never really drank it alot to begin with
Pre sweetened ice tea, I make my own and add oranges along with the lemons to flavor it and sweeten it a bit
I don't really believe in cutting anything out entirely, but by majorly limiting certain things, in time, they become no longer appealing to me. I still enjoy the occasional soda, particularly with certain foods, but I don't crave it and its completely unsatisying when I'm thirsty. I also avoid any foods with hydrogenated oils, but I don't worry about it when Im out and someone offers me a snack that probably has them in it. Oh, and Girl Scout cookies get a pass.

LOL...they were easy to give up once Burry Bisquit company stopped making them...just were not the same
I cut out wheat. I did it initially to lose weight but even though I haven't lost weight I won't go back. I never realized how sick I felt all the time until I dropped wheat and gluten-containing grains. I also no longer get migraines. So, for the sake of my head and digestive system wheat and gluten are permanently out. Too bad I didn't lose any weight though.
Edited to add that my acne also went away when I stopped eating wheat. I used to always have at least one zit. Now my skin is clear. So, I look marginally better just not in the way I wanted to.
Sweets - I will never add those back to my diet - I've been off of them for 10 months - now the only sweet thing I have is the occasional piece of fruit.

I've been avoiding sweets for a while, too. Even dark chocolate. Anything with sugar.
It's amazing how sweet and delicious fruit is now. I'm enjoying some blackberries now that are just plain yummy.
I gave up my fancy Starbucks drinks. I'll get an occasional green tea or regular coffee, but mostly I stay away. I was drinking lattes and mochas almost everyday before. Now I only have them for a special treat, and honestly when I do splurge, all the calories and fat make me feel sick.
When Haymarket closed shop in my area, I stopped eating double-sized cranberry walnut muffins every day. Once every few months, I indulge in one from the supermarket, but they really aren't the same and I don't know of any muffin that can equal the Haymarket ones.
I stopped drinking soda around three years ago and on occasion (maybe once every couple of weeks) I'll take a sip of hubby's soda glass.
I no longer get a bagel with salmon spread at Dunkin Donuts several times weekly, because they stopped serving the salmon spread and that was the main reason I was getting the bagel. I still do occasionally get a lox and bagel sandwich from Brueger's but that's maybe just a few times per year.
