That approach works for YOU, and maybe a lot of other people. I eat grains and have zero problem with them, in fact I need them in order to feel healthy and exercise with the intensity that I do. That works for ME.
We are all different in what works for us. If you found a way of eating that allows you to lose weight, not be hungry, be healthy and are able to do it for the long haul, congratulations!

It may not be true for a certain percentage of people, but many people lose weight at a FAST RATE if they cut out grains as they don't have anything in common with those consumed in the US over 30-40 years ago. Wheat changed and became different with much higher gluten content and appetite stimulating properties. Based on my personal experience and many other people that I know, the "feeling hungry" between meals, extra snacking, etc goes way down if you cut out the wheat. Read labels carefully as well as it's hiding in many products.

That may well be true, but some people do not want to live without pasta, or some breads. If one cannot adhere to a strict way of eating there is no point is extolling the virtues of eating that particular way. That is why it is IMPORTANT for people to find their own way of what works for them regardless of what any 'expert' says.

If I want "junk food" occasionally I will have corn or rice pasta or gluten free pasta. They aren't healthy items and are carbohydrate dense. I am gluten intolerant and have been on a stringent diet for years, well before it became "mainstream."

Did you actually have a fasting glucose test? Were you diagnosed with insulin resistance after medical testing?

As any wrestler know, cutting out grains and other carbs is a very quick way to cut weight.

You aren't losing fat though.

Haaha! Did you know that most foods contains carbs? Did you know that sugars are carbs?

Carbs don't increase the risk of heart disease. Certain foods do.

People, doctors included, who vilify any one component of whole foods, are clueless.

The research is irrefutable that certain diets lower the risk of chronic disease, while other types of diets increase the risk. It has nothing to do with a certain component of foods. Vegetarians consistently have the lowest rates of chronic disease such as obesity, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension and their diets are composed of mostly carbs.

Until the laws of physics are repealed, energy in (calories) vs. energy out will always determine whether one loses or gains weight.

Excess fat is simply excess stored energy that has been taken in the form of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Reducing the amount of energy taken in will always be the most effective way to lose weight.
