Cooking destroys it .
Our bodies are designed to live on living tissue ,
consuming dead tissue is what is causing most of the health problems.
Care to back this statement up with some peer reviewed data? Because this is just about that whackiest thing I have heard in a long time.

Yeah, I'm not really down with snacking on live animals because "dead tissue" is bad for us.

Oat is good for you as an alternative to the egg and bacon breakfast so many are used to, but if you're watching your weight I think eating oat everyday is not a good idea. Also, there are many forms of oat--steel cut, rolled or instant, some instant oat are sweetened. The steel cut oat retained more of its original nutrients, so it depends on what kind of oat you normally have. The glycemic index of instant oat is also higher than the old fashioned oat, that means the instant oat pushes up your blood sugar faster. And carbo loaded breakfast (eg. oat) makes us feel more sluggish in my opinion.

Carbohydrate foods can make us sluggish and sleepy that's why you felt better by switching to fruits. Lean protein like nuts are much better in giving you energy in the morning, so maybe adding nuts to your oat is a good option sometimes when you feel like having oat in the morning again.

I put uncooked oats in my meal replacement smoothie. 1/2 cup oats, some non fat greek yogurt and maybe a little unsweetened almond milk. Then I add a handful of frozen berries and a frozen banana. Full of protein and I stay full till lunch.

I always thought Oat meals are good for you, I am wrong on that? I just don't know what to eat anymore for breakfast.

No. Fruits are a quick sugar fix. They digest quicker and release their carbs faster. Oats release their carbs slower. You don't get the quick energy, you get more sustained energy which keeps you going longer. It also keeps your blood sugar regulated so your not snacking on something before lunch.
