Hi,

I have been eating Quaker Old fashioned oats for years. I don't even use the micro oven, I use the stove and make my breakfast every morning. For past one week I ran out and I didn't go shopping, I only had Apple and Grape fruits at home so I have been eating those. I feel so much better with fruits then Oats.

I always thought Oat meals are good for you, I am wrong on that? I just don't know what to eat anymore for breakfast.

Thanks

Form most people they are a very healthy option. For others not so much. Do they fill you up and keep you satiated until your next meal? If so keep on eating them! If not switch to a more protein dense breakfast.
I eat an oatmeal/quinoa blend every morning with frozen blueberries I heat up. For me it is ideal, but not everyone is the same.

I'm not sure but I think oats are gluten. I've been working to stay off as much gluten as I can and I'm off oatmeal for some time now...really got bored with oatmeal anyway. I'll eat it in a pinch when I have nothing else...this morning I'm having a nice bowl of vegetable soup that I make. I am not into the so called traditional american breakfast. I eat eggs a couple times a week and some clean sausage and often salads. I buy some prepared salads and add some of my own veggies to them.

Oat meal is good but if you are trying to shed some pounds do not eat more than 1/3 cup (cooked) a day.

Gluten is NOT the enemy! Do you have celiacs? Have you been tested for gluten sensitivity? Chances are you are not in fact gluten sensitive.

Oats are not wheat, so they are gluten free. The problem with many oat products is cross-contamination with wheat products, not gluten in and of itself.

I prefer to cut as much gluten as I can. I'm not celiac but have researched enough about what gluten could be doing to our health.

Oats are my breakfast starting Jan 1 this year. I switched from my bacon egg cheese sandwich breakfast which I was having the past 15 years. I felt the shift of my lunch to a later time. Prior, at 11 a.m. I was already hungry for lunch, now, I can last up to 1 p.m. before I feel hungry. Starting February though, I bought Whey and I am alternating oats and whey for breakfast.
