I read once that if you eat healthy for a long period of time it can work against you and you will end up gaining weight. I throw in a sweet thing here and there to keep myself balanced. Not that im a food addict or anything. I can totally control myself.
I don't do cheat 'days'. I do cheat meals/snacks. Its all about moderation. One cookie won't put you over the edge, but a whole sleeve? Yeah, you've got problems.
I tend to track during the week when my days are more structured and let things go a bit on the weekend. I'm conscious of weekend decisions, but so long as I'm not doing breakfast out, pizza lunch, big dinner and desert, I don't really worry about what I'm doing.
Edit: At the same time, I don't consciously say I'm going to go crazy every Saturday or plan a big splurgy "cheat" lunch or whatever.

I read once that if you eat healthy for a long period of time ........ you will end up gaining weight.
That would only happen if you were also under-eating, which is the common way of losing weight (doesn't work long-term).
Now, I don't need cheat days, BECAUSE I eat healthy...and because of that, I can eat a lot. But some people would say my diet IS cheating, just because I eat what (naturally) tastes good - fruit. People avoid doing high-carb-high-cal. But this is exactly why I'm one of the only thin people left.
Along with grains, I'm smashing in the carbs, and that keeps my body content.
I don't have cheat days or cheat meals. Nothing is off limits as long as I work it into my regular diet and don't go overboard.
Same here. I also feel the term "cheat" day or meal is negative and counter productive.
