If you see the term "corn sugar" in the ingredients list please be aware that it is just another name for high fructose corn syrup. Apparently the wealth of information on the internet has enlightened enough consumers that HFCS now has a well deserved, bad reputation. The Corn Refiner's Association is sneakily trying to get HFCS renamed as "corn sugar" to pull the wool over the eyes of consumers. Don't be fooled by those slimeballs. Stay well.

Try and eat non processed food and you really won't have to worry about HFCS. Fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, fresh meat, poultry and fish. Basically foods that do not have an ingredient list.

That is the IDEAL, but many of us have to resort to some processed stuff.

Yes! Personally I am following this route and gravitating this way for my entire diet. I was just preparing a homemade smoothie earlier made from a banana, ground flax seeds, chia seeds, a dash of fennel seed and coconut milk. The only part of the smoothie that had any ingredient list at all was the coconut milk, everything else is naturally one ingredient.

I just wanted to share the knowledge I came across that the Corn Refiner's Association is trying to pull a fast one over on the public.

Thanks for the link.

Apparently though, all forms of fructose (off the tree) can be harmful and should be consumed in moderation from an early age.

Syrups are even worse.

It turns out the push to rename HFCS as "corn sugar" was (fortunately) denied by the FDA. Now some of it is allowed to be called just "fructose" depending on the actual percentage of fructose versus glucose. It is alarming that Cargill can get away with creating a man-made substance from corn and then calling it the exact same thing as a natural substance found in beneficial fruits.

High Fructose Corn Syrup Now Hidden Under a New Name - Waking Times

We've got to stay on top of these people. Cargill Corporation and the Corn Refiner's Association are some really sneaky devils.

You're ranting about a bunch of nonsense. HFCS and sucrose (table sugar) have no meaningful differences from a physiological perspective. It's all one in the same.

Yes natural fructose is found in beneficial right-off-the-tree fruits, and though it is better than table sugar, there are still a half-dozen possible side effects associated with it, whether instigated by one's family history or mere overindulgence.

Again, syrups are even worse.

Humans have never been able to perfectly replicate nature and there is certainly differences in how the body digests natural fructose versus the man-made garbage.
