I lost 10 pounds in the last three weeks. Absolutely the quickest I have ever taken weight off. Gave up most carbs except occasional oatmeal or an occasional slice of whole grain bread, gave up pasta, white flour, sugar and keeping calories around 2000 daily, working out pretty hard an hour a day, 5 days a week. Still having wine every day, the occasional martini and plenty of fish, chicken and veggies. Still, amazed it is coming off this quick. I have tried all kinds of diets over the years and never lost weight but I'm now a believer, the "white" carbs are the downfall. Still, my dearly miss my pizza and occasional frozen yogurt but, the weight's gotta go.
I lost 40 pounds in about ten weeks (Atkins). Continued to lose some for another few months, but it was much smaller increments. Kept it off for a few years. Gained some back, lost some, gained back, lost some. Right now, 15 or 20 years later, I am only down ten pounds from when I started that diet, but I am on a losing cycle again. I have not been able to duplicate that dramatic weight loss since, probably in part because I stopped eating sugar at that time, and have not really gone back to a sugary diet.
One of my son's teammates lost 12 pounds in 10 hours in order to make weight for a competition when another teammate got a hernia and could not compete only one day before the race (Crew). He made weight by half a pound and then, within minutes after weighing in, started to re-hydrate drinking over a gallon of water and gatoraide or something like it, and eating 5,000 calories. He had three hours after weighing in to regain his strength/stamina. It is a stupid process.
Do u mind if I ask ur age and height? Usually I hear people losing 65 who were near 300.
I am 5 ft 4 , 61 years old.
