Honey is a natural sugar, and it is a sugar, non-the-less. It has a few minerals and phytonutrients over cane sugar, and converts to glucose rapidly in the body elevating blood sugar if you eat more than a teaspoon or two and initiating hormones, like insulin that tell your body to store the food you are digesting as fat, for later usage.
Fake sugars/sweeteners arn't any better - these zero calories trigger the insulin response and cause increased fat storage instead of zero impact.
Small amounts (1 tsp) of natural sweeteners - if you can afford the calories, are less damaging. You might learn to appreciate and taste the natural sweetness in fruits and foods. Temperand balance carbs with higher amounts of fiber. Use a pinch of Saigon Cinnamon or stevia to "sweeten" if you need it. Cinnamon actually helps the body with stabilizing blood sugar levels.
Sugar by any other name is still addictive and can hurt your health.
