Some of us are "stone formers." The rest of us aren't. Most of those who are prone to kidney stones have a genetic predisposition to not make enough of a certain protein that helps us to super-saturate our urine with certain substances, like Calcium oxalate (80% of stones).
If you're not a stone former, you need not worry about your diet-- you'll just never make stones. If you are a stone former, you can lose sleep and worry yourself silly about diet, or you can just drink plenty of water to keep your urine dilute.
