Dump the soda. The sodium may be making you retain water. Buy some lemons & limes, put slices in your water. Don't salt or sugar anything.

Your dinner meal must be the calorie issue. Cut it in half or use a salad plate only. You might do better to sometimes have lunch & then a protein shake for dinner.

I don’t know how you can lose meaningful weight without exercising (cardio). I could never lose weight until last year. Started eating a really healthy diet Mon-Thurs (cheat a little on the weekends), AND started running. I’ve dropped almost 40 lbs in the last year. It’s the exercising that has really helped in dropping the weight.

You won't lose weight if you are eating more calories than you are burning. Plain and simple. The number one reason that people can't lose weight is that they are not accurately tracking food intake. Count every single morsel that you put into your mouth. Everything. Use something like MyFitnessPal - they have a very complete database. You will likely be shocked at the number of calories you are consuming.

You don't have to do cardio to lose weight. It certainly makes one healthier though. All you have to do is to burn more calories than you consume. Period.

I don't do that much cardio.
I would've lost weight without it, but it doesn't hurt.

OP is clearly still taking in too many calories and way too much sugar.
Get rid of the regular soda and count your calories. I'd take it a step further and count carbs as well.
I do drink soda, but it's all diet.

OP: Do exactly this:

-no sugar
-no dairy
-no wheat
-no processed foods

Eat two meals per day; breakfast of eggs and avocado; lunch is a huge salad with salmon.

Drink only water.

You will lose about 2-3 lbs per week

I agree on myfitnesspal. They also have very supportive Discussion Boards.

My late husband was the cook in our house. He made great "down-home" food- corn bread in a cast-iron skillet, mashed potatoes, pot roast, steaks on the grill....and I didn't exercise portion control and gained weight. Calories in, calories out.

Calories from yesterday which is probably slightly on the high side a little in regards to diet the past two weeks. Even a little worse than normal due to what was for supper.

-2 cups soda (225 Calories)
- Half box of Hamburger Helper w/nothing else added (900 Calories)
- 2 Slim Fast shakes (260 calories)

So that's about my average since I started. That's what, around 1100-1400 calories per day

Hamburger Helper is trash. Don’t eat processed foods like that. Same with Slim Fast.

It sounds like you’ve set your body into survival mode so your metabolism has slowed down.

Do SOME kind of cardio, even walking, eat whole food for your meals, and cut out the bedtime snack.

Stop eating soda and processed crap and eat real food. No soda - there's absolutely nothing good about it. Eat lean meat/eggs, vegetables, and maybe a little fruit. What you listed above has very little nutritional value and tons of carbs and sugars.
