You don't need a gastroenterologist. Start with a primary care doctor.
What is your diet like? I would suggest you start paying attention to the type of food and the amount you are eating. Start exercising.
I have a case of fatty liver. I am slightly overweight. My friends notice right away that I had a fatty stomach/big belly.
What kind of questions can I ask the Gastroenterologist specialist when I see him to improve and better my health conditions ?
When you were diagnosed with "fatty liver" disease what did the doctor suggest? Can't believe they didn't give you some guidelines to improve your health right then. Just having a big belly doesn't mean you have hepatic steatosis.
According to Dr G Medical Examiner, non-alcoholic fatty liver is caused by the liver not being able to keep up processing carbs so it stores them as fat within itself until it has a chance to process them.
So the first thing I'd do in that situation is limit sugar and highly processed carbs. And the second thing I'd do is wait at least 16 hours between dinner and breakfast to give the liver a break from it's other duties so it will have the time it needs. 18 hours would be even better.
I didn't answer your question about what to ask the gastro. I'd ask if fatty stomach has anything to do with fatty liver. It would be surprising if your liver was holding that much fat, wouldn't it? Hmmm I dunno.
The liver is amazing and capable of healing from a lot of damage.
Ask the doctor what are the top things you can do to improve the health of your liver and body overall.
