The only noticeable side effect I experienced after losing weight is that I'm more sensitive to cold weather since I have less fat on me. It's a good problem to have.
Thank you for speaking about this. Rage due to hunger is a very important side effect that not many people consider. If you are on a calorie deficit diet, it will be a while before the body and the mind get used to it. So you should be prepared for its possibility and work on keeping yourself calm.
For some reason I go through this only on the week-ends. Batteries for the scale, has to be replaced a least once a year. Ladybee
I go through the stuck on the scale periods. Since 2000 I have lost 63 lbs. the last 11 lbs was lost in 3 months. Its slow, but the scale is moving in the right direction.. I am diabetic, only on 2 pills a day, and moving in the right direction. I need to loose a little more and the doctor may take me off the pill.
I go through the hunger only on the week-ends. I do caring in my purse a snack when I leave the house. A healthy one. It helps a lot. A fruit, nuts, stick cheese, etc. and always water. Our gym is closed, so I do as much walking as possible.
I hope everyone stays healthy during this time. Ladybee
Yes, it does go slowly. I'm in one of those "stuck" periods right now, but the new scale is consistent and I'm not gaining, just hovering around the same weight for about three weeks now. It's a little weird because I stepped up the exercise this week and I seem to have gone UP a pound or so. No, it's not "muscle weight" as people like to claim. That may apply to yutes who are lifting or something, but I am a 60-something woman whose exercise increase means longer and more frequent walks. I do some light weights for the arms and a series of floor exercises and stretching that was made up for me after a back injury a few years ago, but nothing that's turning me into a body builder, lol.
But, I record everything I eat, and I know by now that it will eventually move. These weird plateaus just seem to happen for no apparent reason. Might be water retention with the onset of hotter weather.
Well mine's more a result of extreme unhealthy weight loss ( I was anorexic for 3 years straight and had a relapse a few years after). I lost about 80 lbs in less than 14 months (I think less than a year) tbh.
I went from about 160 to 83. All I got was:
Heart palpitations
Anemia, both types
Other deficiencies, a lot of them
Raynaud's syndrome
and bunch of other problems I could've avoided if I didn't lose as much, and did so healthily. Be careful with weight loss, it can be addictive.
A high protein diet can lead to the accumulation of excessive uric acid. Anything that’s too much is bad for the body; including uric acid which may not be thoroughly and efficiently removed from the body.
Of course there is bad side-effects.......eating lots of foods that are so tasty, junky and all around yummeee is the ultimate hedonistic activity, very enjoyable.
