Get more active. Who sleeps in the afternoon???
You can't burn all the calories from your "full heavy breakfast" (whatever that means) if all what you do all day is sitting and relaxing.
I take naps in the afternoon once a week, usually on a Saturday or Sunday but mostly in the fall and winter. Once the weather warms up and it's nice out I usually do not.

You need water. I drink 2-3 gallons every day, thats every single day. This is basic stuff, any athlete knows this.
