Why is it that so many women obsess? 9 out of 10 times, the lady isnt really overweight or just looks fine at her current weight! I see diet plans with "before" and "after" and I hate to tell you this but often a healthy curvy lady in the "before" and a skinny, underweight, bony unattractive lady in the "after"

Dont fall for the sterotype that you have to be rail thin or even anorexic to be beautiful. Truth is curves are in and nearly all men prefer their women this way! Unless you have five chins, can hardly fit in the door or sit on the chair, chances are you arent fat! Ive seen lots of average height women weighing around 150 that looked just fine! So dont obsess, eat another bar of chocolate and flaunt your wonderfully curvacious figure!

It's not that I think I'm fat; I know I'm not...but we all, or at least me, hate that we are getting sizes bigger than we were. I have about 5 pairs of jeans sitting in my drawer from 2003 which are a size 3/4, and I am not throwing them out because somewhere in the back of my mind I am saying "that was only 3 years ago, and 12 pounds ago, so it is doable...it's not like it was 10 years ago and 30 pounds ago...".

Ahhhh for being such a young one... you sure are quite the charmer. I can only hope you still feel that way when you are "tainted" by the experience of life!!!

I never thought I was overweight, I'd always been the perfect weight. Then this one guy tells me, "You look like you've lost weight." ARG! What, have I been starving myself or something? Is my diet really so bad that I'm starting to look malnourished? Do I need to eat more?

Compliment my foot! I tell him his comment upset me and the numbnuts ends up using the same line again at a later date. And it's not like I hadn't bragged about my perfect weight before he thought up that line. Guys are dumb- or at least he is!
---
Well... I'm not the perfect weight these days (I'm about twenty pounds more than I normally am), but I blame poor dietary choices and lack of exercise, not eating too much. I also don't blame the baby. I went back to my perfect weight after the baby pretty quick. It wasn't until at least a year later that I started putting on the pounds. I didn't believe the scale for a while because I didn't think I could get overweight.

I like women with curves too. Too thin isn't usually attractive. There are exceptions of course, but in general, I like a woman with curvy curves and some cush!
And you Mrshvo...I don't care what you weigh or even if it's a concern for you...you're H.O.T!

At five feet tall, I'd feel good at 110 lbs. Unfortunately, I'm about fifteen pounds heavier than that at the moment! *sigh*

There was a study done a while back, in which men were asked to pick which model (ranging from really skinny to fat) was the most attractive. The most normal looking one got the most votes, but after that, the next one UP the scale received the most votes. That surprised me.

NAF, thank you so much for brightening my day with your statement.

Well, don't despair Sandy. That's not much and I'm sure you look great. What's important is how you feel too.
I'm 6ft and normally 155-160lbs. I'm 44 and been that weight for 25 years. When I got really sick in May of 06, I lost a whole bunch of weight and was in danger of falling through my butt and inadvertently hanging myself. I was a bone. I looked like a man who was dieting to escort Nicole Ritchie to a Hollywood event...BONY and way too thin. I've been eating like a horse ever since and had trouble putting it back. Luckily I keep clothes forever and just threw away my underwear I was given in bootcamp in 1981, so I still have jeans and pants from the 80's and early 90's when I was too thin then too. I needed a belt!
My heaviest was 170lbs when I worked in Las Vegas and had access to breakfast at the company cafeteria every morning... I didn't feel good at 170lbs and I felt heavy, bloated, and slow and I was hyper aware of my body feeling too thick and heavy. Most people consider a man of 6ft. to weigh a minimum of 180lbs. to be healthy... it doesn't work for me. I feel like a stud and totally healthy when I'm 160lbs Everyone is different!

For the first couple of years after my last was born, I used to really obsess about that extra 10 lbs and my somewhat "soft" belly. I'd see these pretty young things in the mall in their belly shirts and I would just sigh. But you know what? Now I wear it like a badge of honor. I have given birth, I'm a mommy, and I'm proud of that. I wouldn't trade places with those girls, because I wouldn't be who I am without the life experience of being a mother. I'll live with my 5'2" 110 lb body. I've earned it, and so have all you other ladies out there!

Personally, I've always been attracted to "pleasingly plump" women, why? To me they were more "down-to-earth", I didn't have to worry about a lot of men "gawking" at them, if I'd take them out to dinner......they would EAT (not just get a salad or get a steak and just pick at dinner......they would EAT. I do remember one gal that I dated for a very short time that was fairly skinny. The first time I went to her apartment, I took a 6 pack of beer, put it in her frig and what did I find? Skim milk, diet soda, yogurt, fruit and Lean Cuisine dinners. Even seen a box of Special K in her one cupboard. No potatoes, meat or pies. No cookies or cake on the counter. No popcorn.....NO POPCORN??? What kind of person has no popcorn in their house???? Heck, I love cookies, pie, cake, Pepsi and popcorn. Nothing like watching a good movie with either a bottle of Coors Light (or?) and some hot buttery popcorn. Well, after finding out what she ate, that was enough for me to "run away" after that one visit.
Me. I remember when in 1968, going into the Navy, I weighed 98 pounds. I was definitely thin, but the Navy kept me and gained about 60 pounds. Boy, during my 20's/30's, I could eat anything and not gain an ounce. By the way, I'm 6'1". When I got into my late 40's, I noticed my metabolism was slowing down a lot and I went up to 190. I still looked ok, but the weight gain didn't stop there. Now I'm in my later 50's and weigh about 245 with a little bit of a belly (well, maybe a "touch more" than a little bit). It is very, almost impossible, to lose weight when you get older and older.
My solution to avoid seeing my belly: after I take a shower and before I look into the bathroom mirror to comb my hair,......I close my eyes! Only kidding.

I know what you mean. When I was about 18-22, (in the Navy), I used to order my standard fare at Burger King:
2 Whoppers with Cheese
1 Chicken Sandwich
1 Lg. Fries
1 Lg. Coke
I'd eat the whole thing and then walk waddly out the door. Problem is, my habits are hard to change and I still order a large BigMac meal for example and then throw in a quarter pounder and chicken sandwich at the McDonalds drive-through...
Or, Order the Whopper meal at BK with an extra chicken sandwich and everything large...then I'm always surprised now that I can't eat it all
I do a lot of cooking at home now and got into slowcooking, casseroles, homemade cookies (CelticLady's chocolate chip cookie recipe is the BOMB!!), and other things and I still eat a lot, but I'm still too thin. I'm working on it
