I have a beer belly which i want to lose as it's impeding my chick-hunting and becoming increasingly embarressing to be out in public looking half-pregnant. I also want to tone up my arms and legs as they are basically just flab bags.
I read that running is an ideal method, but the problem is I have an ingrown toenail which is aggravated if I run. Is there any other effective way to lose weight? Will using an exercise bike or doing situps, weightlifting, push ups etc help?
If it's body fat your looking to loose you need to include cardio in your daily schedule.....this will burn calories and shed body fat. I run occassionally but I really don't want to be one of those 60 year olds with really bad knees so 80 percent of my cardio I do on my eliptical, low impact. You will also want to start weight training as this will increase your metabolism and you will consistenly burn more calories throughout the day as well as get some muscle tone back. Depending on your resources.......do you have access to a gym? personal trainer maybe to assess your current status and create a program according to your individual wants and needs......home gym.....????
Diet....this is 50 percent of the solution.......cut out beer, soda's sugary drinks...don't drink calories.
it's a lifestyle change, eat healthier and you will notice a huge change
You can lose weight on diet alone. But you have to count your calories.
Cardio can help you along and break stalls.
That will still leave you flabby though. A little less flabby because fat will be gone, but to fix yourself up totally you have to lift or do some other sort of strength training exercise like isometrics.
Google: spark people diet
It will give you a diet and exercise guide for your personal stats
