I noticed this morning that over the last year or so, working an office job (I graduated in '07) has made me put on some weight. I started off relatively small 5'2, 120lbs but have now ballooned a good 10 lbs and am quite unsatisfied with my current body.

While I am active (gym it 2-3 times a week for at least 30-45 minute sessions), I feel like the food I'm eating and the drinks I'm drinking at happy hour are completely ruining me.

I've been down this road before---my top weight was 145 and the way I lost almost 25 pounds was actually through a very slim diet when I interned in China. It seems the culture there has less an emphasis on volume of food but rather quality of food. I learned to be very picky and eat small amounts even though I tried many foods in that short 2 month period.

I think I need to start doing this again (and affirming this in my head as I write it all down). I will try to re-adopt my former routine of eating a relatively good-sized breakfast, skimping on lunch, and then a very small dinner. A snack or two in between.

I recall being pretty hungry the first couple fo days but that's just the fat burning off!

You can do it Smerky! Consider lengthening your work-out session to an hour and doing lots of cardio?

Best of luck!

P.S. Don't be a gym diva...the people that show up, putz around on the machines, barely break a sweat and then leave. Put in a good hard hour and you will be SmerkybuffGirl.
