Update: I refrigerated it last night since she wasn't into it. I took it out a little while ago and gave it to her outside on the deck. She immediately took it to the natural area and hid in under a huge azalea shrub.

Beats me why she just doesn't chew and enjoy it. Maybe she's reverting back to her feral days before she was picked up and taken to a shelter. Maybe she's stockpiling in case of emergency. What a nut.

Today I went to an all natural dog store, and bought my dogs frozen bones. as well. My friends always buys these for them and they love them. I asked them at the store, what the difference was from the ones I had been buying them and these. The other ones were basted and no meat on them. These are raw, with meat on them and more like what they would find in the wild. Well...my dogs were saved by an american soldier in Kabul Afghanastan and were wild dogs. I thought, "no wonder they love the raw ones" . They carry them around as well, they are just stashing them for later. Today is the first day in the almost two years that I have had them, that my male dogs growled at me. It was when I approached his bone to put in the freezer. I find, these bones last a lot longer. You have to put them back in the freezer when they are done with them. With this heat wave that we are having....I bet it is refreshing to have a cold bone to chew one. I highly recommend them.

many dogs when new at it will "stash" them...
im pretty sure they must taste even better with "dirt icing" lol.

i generally give mine thier raw bones in their crates, keeps them from wandering round and schmearing marrow all over the place, keeps them from getting into it with eachother and they realize its a safe spot and they can settle down and enjoy

raw bones are THE best thing you can do to your dogs teeth!

Just a bit of info you should have... any weight-bearing bone of a large animal is so dense they can break a tooth. Just watch them when they're gnawing on it.

Before I knew that, my doxie got her teeth stuck INSIDE the bone... trip to e-vet was necessary.
