After having her for nearly a year, I found out my "Greyhound" is a Lurcher! She looked a little different than all the other Greyhounds we saw, and now we know why. I am not the least bit upset that she's a mutt, because mutts are my favorite breed!

We had a cancer scare which turned out to be arthritis, but while waiting for the test results I called the local Greyhound rescue with questions. When I told them she didn't have ear tattoos, but looked just like a Greyhound, they told me about Lurchers. I am positive she is a Lurcher. Anyway, it explains so much about her scars and background.

I'd never even heard of Lurchers until yesterday. Does anyone else have a Lurcher?

I don't have one but am very familiar with them. Where we were many (most?) of them were border collie x greyhounds.

Lurcher fans are serious devotees and you'll be put in a vat of boiling tar if the word "mutt" ever passes your lips in relation to your dog.

Enjoy - you can now compare ownership notes with Vinnie Jones.
