My lab only went to the groomer for baths in the winter when I wanted him under a dryer (his senior years).
The rescued Springer went about 3-4 times a year for a haircut so he resembled his breed somewhat and for those close "summer" cuts to keep him cool and happy. Probably will do something similar for the next Springer though I would like to give home grooming (not just bathing) a try. Since I like the field variety I'm not worried about a show coat, just don't want the other dogs to laugh at him/her!
Never get my dog proffesionally groomed. Sorry, but just doesnt seem right.
i also dont do clothes on animals!!!!!!!!!
labs don't really need it, but some dogs do. my dog's hair just keeps growing and growing if she doesn't get a haircut. and she's not even as high maintenance as some dogs are.
