Dog toys for chewers (shepherd, vet, toy, stomach)

I wanted to share a link to a toy we've had for about a week now, and I think it is the coolest toy we've bought so far. We have a German Shepherd that is 2 years old. He likes to pick this ball up and drop it, and it will bounce all over the place. It is made of a flexible rubber than can be squeezed, but it is about the same size as a softball so I'm not too concerned with him swallowing it. It also floats. We go through tennis balls like crazy. He keeps pulling the skin off and cracking them in half. Hopefully this ball will last for a long time.
We also love any kind of rope toy (takes a long time to tear apart and can be knotted to make it last longer) and a firehose toy that has held up very well.
so far, my 3 REALLY like them.... and by all accounts, they are pretty durable....
and the best part is that this is a 13 y/o kid doing this and he is donating a good portion of his proceeds to help out shelters in the houston area.....
The only toys my dog won't completely demolish in under 24 hours are the largest Nylabones (he only likes the ones with bumps and textures, the smooth ones don't interest him at all), and the black Kongs (not the red, those become rubber shavings in under a day). Every other "virtually indestructible" chew toy has showed its destructibility in mere hours, sometimes minutes. He's not even a big dog...just a strong chewer.
The nylabones are the most indestructable toys out there. One of my dogs vomits from them, though, even though rice-size pieces of the inedible ones are supposed to pass through harmlessly(and they don't bother my other dog at all). It took forever, and lots of money for tests at the vet that didn't turn up anything, to figure out what was wrong with her.
My dog could swallow an entire Nylabone whole and not throw up. He could eat an entire bin of garbage and not throw up. He ate a pincushion, once, carefully picking around the pins. Not an owner of a finicky gut, that one. I think of him as the goat dog.

From time to time I am amazed (and horrified) at what one of mine eats.
It took some time to realize that it's better to have one with an iron stomach than one so finicky that the slightest change of food causes it to need a vet visit.
I tried the nylabones and kongs and it looks at them and walks away. I have caught it chewing away on some old tire in the back, but can;t get it to play with commerical toys for some reason. The vet says its not good for it, but I just can;t get it to chew on toys. Its favoruite "toy" right now is a broken compost bin it's been taking apart bit by bit and chewing on the hard plastic cover. have you had anything like this and what did you do?

Yes, he ate (not chewed on, ate) the entire liner pan for his wire crate. And my laptop cord. And probably $500 worth of underwear and socks in the past three years. And God knows what else. He tried to eat an entire turkey neck last Thanksgiving, but my brother dug it out of his throat. He had dug it out of the trash at their house (they don't have a clamping and locking trash bin, like we do, because they have a normal dog).
Rawhide isn't healthy in large amounts (not digestible). Best thing is bully sticks, fully digestible and dogs love them. I order 50 at a time. I also get *** chews.
