that depends on who you ask...
there is no such thing as the best breed as everyone is looking for something different in a pet/companion...

but i must say i think chinese cresteds, great danes and cane corso are some of the best breeds ever!
i also have a soft spot for chihuahua, cocker spaneils, doberman, standard poodles...the list goes on...and on...oh...and on!

Best breed for what? It all depends on what one wants in a dog and what one hopes to do with that dog. I think as we change the best breed for us even changes. I grew up LOVING herding breeds and still do but now that I am past 50 and know too well the energy it takes to own such a dog I am finding my Silken Windhound Dazzle to be a great breed for this stage of my life.

I have got to agree they are all simply the best.

It isn't about breed its about responsible dog ownership. All good dog owners have the perfect pooch.

It also comes down to lifestyle, a particular breed will suit a particular lifestyle.

For me its the Staffie, but I may be a little bias

I've come to love any dog I took care of, and that mix or primary breed got on my list of favored types.
Although it was right down to the wire to fall in love with the beagle/basset. I still have child locks on the cabinets, no sandwich plates unbroken, and a scar where he bit me when I pulled his head out of the refrigerator.
Good thing he was aces for cold feet under the cover. RIP, Snoops.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to rep you but I have to spread it around some.

I often see "bread" instead of "breed" on Craigslist and giggle my face off. But your answer? I laughed my whole head right off of my neck!
