The recent thread regarding indestructible dog beds has me wondering if others have had better luck than I in finding an indestructible dog toy(s)?
We have been fortunate in that our dog has not chewed on any furniture, wood, shoes etc. but toys do not last. We've had a number of $15 toys chewed up within minutes to an hour.
We have some luck with Nylabone (but is hard and gets sharp .. not a toss/play toy) and Kong (can toss but he usually destroys the squeaker quickly and rips the fabric apart).
I have found that the Black XtremeKong has been great. Our GSD has destroyed/eaten all of her other toys. She also has the TireBiter TireBiter® PawTracks Tires - Jeffers which hasn't been destroyed either.
Great ideas! Thank you! I have not seen the Goughnuts before and I believe only the fake Firehouse and TireBiter (at Petsmart?). I've wondered about the Extreme Kong but wasn't certain if it was truly different than the regular Kong.
Do you all find the toys at a major chain or do you order them off the internet?

Btw, I was not familiar with the Belgian Malinois breed, gorgeous dogs!
The extreme Kong IS actually much more durable than the red, but it's still rubber, and super strong jaws are gonna eventually damage it. Those and Nylabones last us the longest...anything else is toast in a couple of days (under an hour if it's rope or cloth-based). But Extreme Kongs and Nylabones tend to last a few months. TireBiter seemed similarly durable, but he wasn't interested in it at all.
My pittie doesn't destroy the black Kongs. I haven't seen Kongs with a squeaker but I assume they are not the hardest kind as the purpose of a squeaker is to squeak when bitten, which means the outside has to have some give to it. I quickly quit buying anything squeaky when I got him!
Although the stores sell something expensive to put in the Kong for them to nibble on, I use peanut butter. Much cheaper and always on hand. You can freeze the stuffed Kong to mkae it last longer.
We have a little black Kong for Caesar the peke but he doesn't like chewing rubbery
or vinyl toys. Unfortunately his little chainsaw teeth ruin all other toys we've bought.
Now I just get those rope type toys, he still chews them up but he's not getting to a
squeaker or something else he can choke on, since he will swallow anything he can.
We tried one extra sturdy dog toy but he chewed that up too.
