I'm going to be fostering a dog for a few weeks and plan to do more short-term fosters in the future. I have two labs so I have plenty of dog supplies but I was wondering if anybody knows of any durable (as in chew proof/resistant) and easily cleaned crate pads. My dogs used to chew their crate pads and managed to ruin all the ones I bought for them. Now that they are older, they don't use their crates as much and have learned what is appropriate to chew on. So, without knowing whether my fosters will be chewers or even house-broken, I'm planning on investing in a good crate pad that will be hard to chew up and easily cleaned if the dog has an accident.
Also, any advice for a first time foster mom would be appreciated.
Well, I've been looking around and remembered that I donated a Kuranda dog bed to the local shelter. Duh me!!! Most shelters ask for them as they are supposed to be indestructible and easy to clean; I didn't get to see it personally as it was shipped directly to the shelter. I checked their site and they have crate beds as well. Anybody have any experience with these?
