It's one of my rainy day diversions, trying to guess what breeds when into Shep. So from my circle, I've gotten Boxer, Dane, mastiff, pitt bull, and ridgeback. What do you all think?
Rhodesian Ridgeback - she looks strong and muscular - no ridge but some purebred RR's are born w/o them - or she c/b a RR mix - she has quite a bit of white on her chest (many have none or a small bit of white) is why it's possible she's an RR mix IMO - could also have some pit in her
Forgot to add, one person also guessed Black-Mouth Cur! Had to look that one up, never heard of it before. I suppose it's possible, since he came from the south
My dog who was called a "Mixed Terrier" at the shelter....at times looks like a black mouth cur....but more like a mix of boxer, pit bull terrier, ridgeback, greyhound and maybe a bit of German shepherd....for the longer snout....mine is brindle. She is one sweet girl.....and your dog is beautiful...what ever the lineage.
You know what's funny? A month after we adopted him I see a 5 month female on petfinder that looks like his little sister, from the same group in the south. The other day I was out running with him, and a patrol car stopped us. Officer leans out and wants to know what breed he is because she adopted a dog that looks just like him I've heard that NE gets a lot of its rescue dogs from the south. It makes me wonder how many boxer/dane/pitt/mastiff/ridgeback mixes are running around down there, lol.
