OMG you guys! I slammed my dog's tail in the car door this morning & ripped the end of her tail right off. I rushed her to the vet and they amputated some more tail.
Has anybody ever done this before? I feel just awful and Shadow is not speaking to me.

Yikes
Ouch! I am sorry to hear about that.
I haven't done this, but I am sure that Shadow knows it was an accident and will forgive you.
Your a good mommy and she knows that. I am sure she is just a little in shock about the whole experience.

Wow, that's awful news and I've actually never heard of it. Hopefully your baby makes a good recovery and I'm sure she'll forgive you, they always do. That's what makes them superior to human friends

She is laying down in the other room (she is usually at my feet) and making woeful faces at me. I am telling myself that it is the after effect of the Isoflourine in combination with the pain med & the anti-biotic, but I am having a hard time believing me.

They don't forget instantly, but they always forgive. I just gave three of my babies a bath and they aren't exactly sitting on my lap right now they will be later though, just their short term memory is only thinking of what I just did to them. After a few meals she'll remember the good side of you and everything (except getting in cars) will be back to normal. The car is going to be a pretty hard thing to get used to again though..

Well, she is sort of speaking to me today. Here she is outside eating a sympathy bone.
