Looks like after several failed attempts at adoption, Ms Maci the Pekinese will be going to her forever home just north of Nashville on Saturday. Phew!
A friend runs in a rescue in IN and has been recovering from cancer for a while. She had to put her large dogs outside in pens when she was released from the hospital and they've been there over a year now. With winter coming we've been desperately trying to find adopters for them and even chopped their adoption fee to nearly nothing. We've reached out asking people to foster them for her and no one has stepped forward. She offered to transfer them to another rescue for free and no one had room.
Because they're smaller dogs and have short hair it's really been bothering me, thinking of them being out in the snow. So I talked to hubby tonight and we agreed to foster them for her. She offered to send along food for them since money is tight. I've talked to another rescue closer to me and may start doing adoption events in a few weeks again and would be able to take them with me. Hopefully we can find them homes quick and start working on the lab / husky brother and sister that she still has outside next.
So, in two weeks, we should have Rocky the white with brown spots Boxer / American Bulldog mix and Savannah the brindle Boxer / Pug mix headed our way!!
They really are. I've been broken hearted that they didn't find homes. The crazy part, is Savannah was actually boarded at my house for a week when she was only 9 weeks old before her transport went to the rescue she is at, so she's kind of come full circle. Hopefully it'll be the last foster home she'll ever see in her life.
They are like potatoe chips always room for 1 more LOL I hold onto Lady-bug a bit longer ... see if she out grows this potty problem BEFORE I drop her on you hehehehehe

Reason: orphaned quote
I want to come live with you when the two black Lab mixes are there. One picture of each and I'm already madly in love with both of them.
I can get them both to you if you'd like!
