I bought a small bag of it last summer when we had those massive power outages. I didn't realize (of course!) that I had almost run out of dog food until the power went out. The pet store was closed, but Giant was open. Because it was an emergency, I bought a bag of RR dog food and mixed it in to the little bit of food I already had. My dog did fine on it, but it was certainly not the quality she is used to getting.
Would not feed it. Most of the varieties contain corn and soy and for the price of the 6 I can buy a quality food that has a much higher protein content and either no grains or gluten free AND be sure the meat comes from grass fed sources. Or in the case of chicken, hormone and antibiotic free and has twice the protein content.
If I want to buy a celebrity endorsed food where the money goes to charity I would look at Newmann's Own.
Her prices aren't as high as the Blue Buffalo we feed, but then, her food contains both corn and corn gluten meal, beet pulp and ground rice -- and that's a whole lot of bulk for an animal that is designed by Nature to need proteins and fat. So looking at the ingredients, I think it isn't as bad as Science Diet, but it is far from being impressive.
Haha yes, when I had an unexpected move I couldn't find the food I normally buy. So I had to use Rachel Ray dog food, my dog loved it but it didn't agree with him. Bad gas and numerous cow pies.
