...I'm beside myself w/ grief. I run a rescue. A rescue partner who I pull dogs with gave one of our dogs to what he thought was another legitimate rescue. This rescue does not screen applicants. Once I realized who he gave the dog to, I called the person who was fostering our dog (a beautiful 80 lb. Shepherd mix 8 month old pup) and demanded the dog back.

She was to bring him back today.

Her psycho neighbor said the dog crossed his property this morning, and shot him with his rifle.

WTF is wrong with people???!!? He is on the slab and he had to be surrendered to the State Lab, with a chance of not getting the body back. So he dies like this, and I can't even cremate him with dignity. I HATE PEOPLE.

Sorry this happened. I realize it's not much comfort but you tried to do right by the dog.

I'm in full agreement about people. It's a crying shame dogs (or any other innocent creatures) have to suffer and die due to the ignorance, cruelty, and selfishness of people that make up far too much of a percentage of the population.

RIP to the pup. I hope and pray he/she finds a better life in the hereafter.

Well said......so sorry to hear this.....it hurts when animals die in ways like this.... such perfect, trusting creatures.

I join you in feeling rage and sadness and pain. May you have better days ahead...thanks for being a rescue person.

That's sick and wrong. Not to mention, illegal.

At first I thought if a dog was loose and on your property, in Orange county, you can kill him or her. But I was wrong. The dog has to be threatening. And my rescue dog was far from threatening....he was a puppy. I think this guy has control issues.

I'm really trying to control my urge to drive over there w/ my gun and shove it down his throat.

That won't solve anything. You won't be able to rescue other dogs from prison. I'm sorry this happened.

I know. I know this deep in my heart. But I can't help it. I am so emotional at the heartlessness of this person's actions. He wanted to wield control with his gun, and with that simple whim he hurt so many people who were pulling for this guy.

It's just so discouraging. I don't trust anyone and I am disgusted by the human race.
