No, I think it's creepy and would just make me miss the pet more to have its "empty shell" there. And what in the world would the other animals in the house think? They can take the loss of a companion hard too, and I think that would just confuse them and stress them out. I've got lots of photos and that will do just fine.

Couldn't access the link but based on my guess that it involves submitting the remains of a deceased long-time friend to taxidermy I'd have to pass.

I'll opt for a respectful burial or (funds permitting) cremation with retention of the remains in an urn.

I dread the day such a decision becomes necessary.

No. I couldn't do it. It's like the whole cloning thing. I want to remember my pup the way s/he was.

I couldn't do it. We can't even keep remains in an urn, because we've had so many animals that we would run out of shelf space.

I've seen the comfort that it provides some people. But if I were going to do it - I'd get the best in the business. I would want my babies to look natural.

Now it might look exactly like my dog and I'd so want to go and hug him, but I'd have to say also too creepy for me. Hard and cold is just not my thing. I'd prefer to think he's there in spirit.

Not my dogs.

However, to be honest I have to say my hubby has a whole room full of trophy mounts.

All wild game.

His prize is a wild turkey he shot in flight with a bow and arrow.

I would cry every time I looked at what had become of my precious baby.
Might give comfort to some, but not to me. What next, stuffed people?
