My puppy is 3 months old she has been eating dry food since I got her about 3 weeks ago.. but when she goes to the bathroom it is runny like she has been eating wet food.

Other than that she has energy, wants to play, and goes to the bathroom every hour and a half or so. Why is she go to the bathroom like that though?

Has it been like that since or has it occurred recently? Is she eating/drinking normally? Is the stool "normal" color or red? If it's occured FOR 3 weeks, a trip to the vet is suggested. Only because she may be playing normally but she could start to get dehydrated very quickly.

It could be a number of things. The brand of food, she's eating too fast, you're overfeeding her, adverse reactions to vaccines, she could have eaten something ie. grass, bugs, or it could be a more serious underlying condition. SO it's a process of elmination. I, personally, would take her to the vet first. If it's nothing serious on the medical side in which she'll need medication, then start down the list. Try a different brand of food. Watch how much and how she eats and whatnot.

Best of luck OP.

Could be many things and we could give many possibilities but it's probably time to take her to the vet for a basic checkup, shots and whatever else she needs.

Yes, it is time for the vet. Bring a stool sample so they can check for worms.
Is your puppy eating the same food that her former owners gave her? If not, did you transition the foods gradually? Some dogs get upset stomachs from abrupt changes in their food. Don't assume that's what it is though. Let the vet check her out.

Could be worms, puppies have worms. Also could be the food you are feeding her..if you change food she could have a runny stool.

She needs to go to the vet.

Definitely get the pup to a vet. Also consider adding canned pumpkin and plain yogurt to her diet as well as (slowly) switching to a grain-free food.

Where did you get the puppy? If adopted from a rescue she should have been fully vetted, dewormed, vaccinated, etc. Or from a city or county pound - in which case she may not have had anything done. Or some other source?

There are many things - (worms, coccidiosis, camphylobacteriosis) - that it could be and only a vet, checking the fecal can tell for sure.

So either take a sample to the vet to check or take the whole dog in for a full check up.

diahrrea in a puppy for more than 6 hours is enough to say you need to have a vet check ad take a poop sample too!

It could be somehting as simple as the food your feeding isnt agreeing with her...
but it could be worms or it could be a virus...
diahrrea in a 3 month old puppy is a serious concern...they get dehydrated quickly, so i woudlnt take any chances trying home remidies...
without knowing cause, its just not worth futzing with home remidies, just have her to the vet and make sure theres nothing serious going on.
untill then put her on a BLAND diet (preferably boiled chicken and boiled rice) (no dog food) and feed little and often (3-4 times a day) once her poop has firmed up compeltly (and the vet has ruled out illness) conitnue bland diet for at least 48 hours after the first NORMAL poop, then slowly intriduce her dog food back by feeding mostly chicken and rice with a little bit of dog food, then the next day a little more dog food and a little less chicken and rice ect.

The bland chicken and rice will give her system a rest so she has a chance to relax...
she needs to eat as pups can suffer form hypoglycemia, but it needs ot be very simple, and bland...

also keep her hydrated! runny poop is high risk becaue of dehydration, dehydration can KILL a young puppy, so make sure shes drinking normaly, if shes not drinking much try giving her low sodium/no sale added chicken broth, or if shes seriously not drinking plain unflavored pedialite.

and off to the vet asap to rule out worms and viruses before we start adding other stuff.

The person I got The puppy from didn't tell me what kind of food.. it might have been her food.. she goes potty on a schedule now and her poop is getting more normal and every once in a while kinda runny. She is maintaining a healthy weight and I feed her on a schedule..
