Since Kohla hurt himself,I've been obviously more focused on his feet and legs. I noticed something today that I've never seen before. Kohla's center two pads on all 4 feet are connected at the back. Its not an injury thing. Its a genetic thing. Our Gator is mostly Lab and his pads are separate. Our Chocolate Lab Bandit and our Chessie Mariah had separate pads. Has anyone ever seen this before? Is it specific to a particular breed or breeds?

I'll have to look at Bella's feet when I get home Va-Cat. That does seem strange.

Oh no! My Kohla is a mutant
(Just kidding - I wouldn't trade this love sponge for a million bucks!) It just is really strange. I've been around a lot of dogs for a lot of years and never seen fused pads before. Either I've very un-observant or its not that common.
Really? I had never noticed that the back of the center pads were attached! I guess its a "Lab" thing after all. Thanks!
Nope, not a lab thing or at least not a Bella lab thing. Of course Bella has the web between the pads but the pads are seperate. Can't wait to see responses from other lab owners.
Labs have Webbed Feet! Total normal for the breed & A Must to have IF showing! What makes Labs great swimmers.
Yes Katie....labs have webbed feet....that is not what she is referring to.
