Cleaned the rodent and herp cages, fed the herps. Fed most of the dogs. Let them potty. One pup chewing on a toy, one pup on my lap. Fed the cats, made sure they had water. Paid for the overnight on the chilled semen. Threw out all the colored toxic newspaper. Cleaned a smaller crate out for my pup, she hasn't been pottying in the bigger one but why have a tiny pup in a big large crate..lol Crap I forgot to start the dog laundry, I just remembered!!!!

Whats left, feed the rodents again. Do the before bed routines. I think thats it. Think I'll save the rest for tomorrow! I have vet appointments tomorrow, dang it!

So what have your kids been up to? Mine are all pretty much content just chilling. In their mellow moods. Even Samara is calm. She can get so hyper sometimes!!! Run around everywhere, grab this grab that, chew this.

I'll be getting to work on pictures for my Pit Bull Colors example on my Pittie forum. I've got so many pics to edit!!! Its going to take hours but I'll stop for dinner once its done. For any of the Pit owners on here I still need a picture of a Blue Fawn, Seal Brindle (I have one but its not very good), Creme (saw on a site and might ask for permission if I can find the site again), Bluies (have one somewhere but can't find it) & green eyes. I think thats it. I hope thats it.

Hope everyone's day went well!! Mine went quickly.

Wow! And I thought I had my hands full! lol! Well, I haven't done much today, I got up and got the hubby out the door for work, I get the pups out to go potty, I fed the pups, I ate some breakfast, I walked each pup individually (when Serg is home we walk them together, but when it's just me I have to go on three 45 minute walks! lol!), I misted the snake tank and turned the heat lamp on, I watched some of the Today show and now the dogs are laying next to me while I'm on the computer. Destiny is under the desk with her head on my feet and Brooklyn and Jayda are curled up together right next to me. That is my normal routine for in the morning. Around 3pm or so I put all of the dogs in their crates and I take them out one at a time to work on some training and play with them. They are all pretty well trained, but it gives them some time to spend with me alone, to bond, have some fun and get some yummy treats! lol! I let them out every few hours throughout the day and then in the afternoon they eat again and go for another 45-60 minute walk. For the afternoon walk we normally take all three of them at once because Serg is home to help. I also have to feed the snake, Jax, every other Monday and clean his tank out every other Friday. And of course, all of the normally wife things, I cook, clean and run most of the errands. On the weekends Serg helps a lot and he normally does the grocery shopping because I HATE it! lol! But since I'm home all day while he works, my job is to cook, clean and run around. So yeah, that's my life! lol!

Oh, I wanted to ask.. What is a seal brindle? Brooklyn is brindle, but nothing special, but he looks black unless he's in the sun or when a camera flash goes off. I have never heard of a seal brindle? Is Brooklyn just a brindle or is there a special name for it? Also, the dogs that are light with the dark markings, are the called reverse brindle? I had never heard that either, but a guy at the vet the other day told me his Boxer is a reverse brindle because it's light with dark markings. I have a friend that has a blue brindle, I don't know if that's really what you would call it, but that's what he calls it! lol! All I have ever heard of is brindle and blue brindle, and now reverse brindle?

See, in this picture unless you're really looking for it, he doesn't really look brindle. He looks more brown in this picture than he does when you're just looking at him in person, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that it was 9pm and really, really dark outside except for the camera flash.

This is how he looks in person when we aren't out in the sun, he almost looks black

This is a bad picture, but this is how he looks when he's out in the sun. The sun was coming through the window so you can see all of his brindle markings.

He's just brindle, right? I mean, I had never heard of any different kinds of brindle until just recently, so I'm just trying to figure out what color he is! lol!

Also, Jayda is black and white, but she has some light brindle markings on her that we just noticed. Would she be considered a brindle?

You absolutely cannot see the brindle unless the light is just right. We have had her for probably about 4 months now and we just noticed this... lol! Out of all of the pictures we have taken of her the three I just posted are the only three where you can see the brindle. Just being in the sun or having a flash won't make them show up, I mean, it has to be a bright light. She really looks black..

So, is she black and white or would she be considered a brindle? lol!

You sound about as busy as me. Except Hubby does most the cooking and a lot of the child care. I just sent him off to the vet to do an AI and health check. I was going to go but since my other lil girl doesn't need a check up right yet I had him go alone. If its something major we usually both go and any time we do rabies we both go since its so many dogs at once. He's had to go the last 3 times by himself but he's fine with it. We alternate on errands depending on what they are who's got what planned. Since I do so much of the dog work and also I do the herp/rodent cleaning/feeding, ect He can do a lot more. He does the dishes 98% of the time, and I do the laundry more but he will help out. I vacuum the dog hair from around the crates and floors.

He loves the dogs but I can see we have different ways. I like things done my way so I just do it myself. He's great for playing with them, for some reason they act so goofy and silly around him, some vibe he gives off. I do the training, potty breaks, morning/night feeding I have my own set schedule. I also do almost all the training, but I love training, its just so much fun and rewarding. He has one female he is supposed to be working with, but so far I've been doing most of the stuff with her. The evening walk today he said he will do a little training with her, so we will see. She's a lot better focused then she was before, so I'm sure he will do better then me because I think she responds better to him.

A seal brindle would be basically a seal colored dog with brindling. I had a little female like this once but you could almost never see it in the pics so my pics don't help me much. My friend had one too and I've got pics of her male, SOMEWHERE who knows where.

Reverse brindle is a not a real term, its a made up term by people who think brindle is dark with light stripes and if they have a dog that is light with dark stripes its "different" or I guess "Special" is what you could say. Most of my brindles have actually been light with dark. Brindle should be described as base color then brindle. Like a Buckskin Brindle is just that, a Buckskin Brindle and not a reverse brindle. There are red brindles that are dark red base with light stripes and then there are ones with light red base and darker stripes. Some people would call the Light Red Brindle a reverse red brindle. People make up all sorts of terms, Like Shovel Head Pits.....lol

On that pit forum I wrote about Pit Bull colors, it explains the terms (including reverse brindle), I already posted it and I'm only needing a few more pictures then I will add all the pictures. All the others are done.

You know, Brooklyn, Destiny and Jayda get really goffy around my husband too! lol! I don't know what it is? I think they see me as the disciplinarian and Serg is more of the fun one, maybe? I don't really know, but they just LOVE to be with their daddy!

I guess I was editing my post as you were responding to my post.. lol! Please let me know what you think about Jayda. I have been saying that she's black and white, but that's really what she looks like 99.9% of the time! But we just noticed she actually has some brindle markings, so would she be considered brindle?

Ok I'm back.

Jayda is brindle, for sure. She is a black brindle & white.
Brooklyn is a really dark brindle too. He might even be dark enough to be considered a black brindle also. It is really hard to tell from pics vs seeing a dog in real life. He would just happen to have more brindling then Jayda. Both are probably black brindles, where he has a lot of brindling and she has a relatively small amount.

WOW!
You gals have sure been busy! I feel like a lazy butt after reading about your day.
got my skinkid off to school at 7 AM, then took my Mayamutt down to the beach while I piled rocks back up on our breakwater. Then she came up to the yard and got a thorough shampoo. She only gets in the water up to her knees, but that long fur sure gets full of sand! Shes so funny, very agile, and likes to show her skills by tearing around on the shore. Such a happy girl, always has a smile on her face, and NEVER talks back like the big Rottn sausage boy Max. He wasnt real happy about Maya getting the first outing at the river today. He was moping around and sucking up (such a schmooze, he sits up on his haunches and begs with this pathetic look on his face)Maya got a good brushing and trim around the ears. She also got her toe tufts trimmed. She looks so pretty with her shiny coat all brushed out.
Did a few domestic duties, then took Max down for his swim. Good thing I did, because he was getting ready to die of neglect Poooor Baby!
The wind started blowing like a banshee, so now were inside.
My BF's birthday is today, so Im doin BBQ and I gotta get the potato salad started soon. Still have to go do last minute gift getting before he gets home this evening.
Im hoping it stops blowing soon because Id like to go down and do some fishing tonight. We have striped bass, trout, and catfish here, and its pretty good fishing right here at our house.

Samara, I have a friend with a Blue APBT. She has the most GORGEOUS green eyes. Her pink skin shows thru because of the light coloring, and when she started to fill out, she reminded me of a baby piglet. soI started calling her Pork Chop, and the nickname stuck with her ever since. I had pics of her, but they were on my old puter that crashed about a year ago. I can give him a call this weekend and see if he has any photos on his comp. Shes a beautiful girl, such an affectionate thing! He got her as a puppy, and I got to love her, then he moved to San Diego when she was about 2. I had never spent time with the breed til she came along, and I have since come to really respect the APBT, and the owners who care for them and work so hard to preserve the breed. We need to see more examples of what they are REALLY like when they are raised by responsible concerned owners like yourselves. The photos here show a completely different animal than what the media has portrayed them to be. Society today seems to be more interested in the tragedies and shocking events that occur daily. With all the focus on the negative, there seems to be less concern and effort to try and make a change for the better. Its easier to complain and blame others than it is to DO SOMETHING.
My point being....
THANK YOU to all the members here who show such dedication and commitment to the furry companions in your lives. You can rest assured that unconditional love will be given by them in return.

I can empathize and relate to all the issues that the breed is faced with. My beloved Rottie is right there beside the APBT. got my skinkid off to school at 7 AM, then took my Mayamutt down to the beach while I piled rocks back up on our breakwater. Then she came up to the yard and got a thorough shampoo. She only gets in the water up to her knees, but that long fur sure gets full of sand! He wasnt real happy about Maya getting the first outing at the river today. He was moping around and sucking up (such a schmooze, he sits up on his haunches and gets a Looooooooooong face on, its amazing how he can lengthen his face LMAO!).
Maya got a good brushing and trim around the ears. She also got her toe tufts trimmed. She looks so pretty with her shiny coat all brushed out.

Geeeez, this turned into one rambling reply!
My apologies, and thanks if your still reading at this point

Have a great Friday nite all!

I read the whole thing. Even where it repeated. That would be awesome if he would send pics. I'd really appreciate it.

They are such great dogs but you are right, they prefer tragedies. Not just in dogs but anything thats got shock factor people want to read and say OMG. Thats why its published.
