The Hallmark Movie Channel is running the movie, Hachi A Dog's Tale. If you havent' yet seen it, it is certainly worthwhile, however, you will go thru a whole box of kleenex.
Richard Gere and Joan Allen...
This is a true story which took place in Japan, back in the early 30's....so if you get a chance, look for it on the Hallmark Movie Channel...it is truely worthwhile....
I just can't watch it. I cry like nobody's business during dog movies, and I know the story of this movie, so I know I would be sitting in a salty puddle of my tears.
I cry every time I watch it too. It is an amazing story. I even bought the DVD. I believe they do know more than we give them credit for.. too bad so many ppl don't realize what they are missing.

I had to revive this thread. Watch this movie, and make sure you have a good supply of tissues. Old Yeller and Marly and me are comedies compared to this tear jerker

yes, I actually DVR'd it...a very good movie...but very sad.
I read the true story about it on the internet, pretty darn interesting. Actually happened in Japan, I think, my memory is soooo bad. Where ever it happened, they built a statue of the dog in honor of him. I think Richard Gere and Joan Allen did a very good job of it.
why do people torture themselves watching movies which they know are sad or scary? i don't understand. I've known this story for many years having lived in Japan in my youth. You could not pay me enough to watch this movie.
