Each night at 11 PM Roxy goes for a run - from the family room into the dining area and into the kitchen.

She is about a year old. She runs until she's tired and looks very happy while doing it. She seems to be smiling.

I know she likes it, but why at 11 PM?

that is probably her bedtime and she is getting one last burst of energy out before her long rest. We used to have a dog who went "9 o'clock good girl' every night for one last pee. At about 8:45 she would awake from a deep sleep and play crazy dog up and down the stairs and through the house and then she would sit by the door knowing it was 9 o'clock. I tell you they all have t-tiny little watches with alarms deeply buried in their fur and they like to be regular in their schedule.

It's really cute and it gives us all a laugh. Being a dachshund, adds humor. So does her punctuality, = she's on a run now! :-)

totally cute

My old family dog always knew when it was exactly 4pm (her dinnertime). She'd come find you and beg.

At about 3:45 my older dog will start to nudge me ..... to let me know its almost supper time....if I dont respond the way she thinks I should....she goes and finds and wakes "little sister" who then comes in and adds her beagle insistence ..... till they get their way.

Little sister also knows what time the kids start to gather on the corner for the school bus and goes and gets on the couch to look out the LR window.....(she hasnt learned about week ends so gets disappointed...and summer vacation is about to start....that will throw her little world into a tail spin...."Where are my kids?"
