My dog used to weigh 22 lbs when I purchased the k9 advantix II for large dogs which is 21lbs to 55lbs. He now is 19 or 20lbs. I want to know if it would be dangerous to put the one for large dogs on him. It is an oral medication.
I think I would call a vet about that question. No sense in guessing and possibly harming your dog. He's certainly at the low end of safely giving him that dose.
Yeah I don't mess around with flea stuff. . . . Are you sure it's not the topical drops you put down their back? I've learned that giving our pets baths and letting the soapy suds sit on the pet for 8 minutes 'drowns' the fleas. (Tip from the animal shelter I fostered with) You can use any liquid soap. That's the best thing I do to keep the fleas down.
Are you sure it is k9 advantix 2? I use that on my dogs and it is not oral...........If your is the same as mine you sure wouldn't want to give it orally, it is pour on.
I buy the largest size and split it between my dogs and it is not exact but since it is pour on I'm not as worried.

Thanks for your help
Good catch imadognut! I did a search and I can't find any link for k9 advantix II being an oral medication!
hbqte57, please be SURE you are giving this medication the correct way. You could poison your dog if it isn't an oral med.
Yup. K9 Advantix 2 IS NOT ORAL. IT IS A TOPICAL application.
If you are just doing the shoulder spot routine, which is what is typically called for with these shoulder spot meds, then there is very little danger.
If you have quoted us the wrong med, and you are doing some oral med, the answer may be quite different. You need to figure out what you are doing, accurately, and get back to us.
Also, if it is in a tube and liquid it is NOT oral. Oral would be in a pill form.............
