If there are any young children in the house a Yorkie probably would not be a good fit.

this breed also tends to have diabetic issues as well and they can be stuborn as a donkey and then some and they also are hard to house train . I know this because my aunt many moons ago used to breed them.

You did your research and bought from a good breeder; that makes a huge difference.

Ok - this is the last picture, I promise! But this is Lucy before her summer haircut. Can you tell I heart her very much?

Run don't walk to the nearest exit. I rescued a 5 month old Yorkie nightmare from first time dog owners. They're not for the faint of heart. It's been a challenging two months with no end in sight.

I've had Yorkies, if you get as a puppy, it's all on you as to how they turn out.

I see you've gotten conflicting information (no surprise on a public message board!) from people who love Yorkies and others who urge you to avoid them at all cost.

My parents have had several Yorkies, and though some were a little yappy, overall they were sweet, adorable little cuddle-bugs. I currently have a Maltese, also small, intelligent, adorable, and hypoallergenic (as others have said, no dog is completely hypoallergenic, but my husband is allergic to dogs & cats but he is fine with our Maltese). Might be worth your time to research that breed as well as lots of research on Yorkies.
