I love Shastaroosticus she's a sweet Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever discovered at the San Antonio Pound.

We are always together but lately my eyes are hurting my arms itch to where I draw blood.

I don't want to be hooked on meds

Any easy solutions?

Do you groom your dog? It sounds like you are allergic to dogs (or at least your dog), but that can be managed with grooming and Benadryl. There are also deshedding tools and shampoos available. As far as sleeping together, put the dog in a crate or in a dog bed.

It sounds like you are allergic to dogs. You don't have to get rid of him. This can be simply managed.
I am allergic to dogs, yet I have four. They do not sleep in the bedroom with me. They have their own sleeping area in the living room. He is cute, but you must not suffer.

Put a bed on the floor.
Point to it and tell your dog, "This is your bed. Stay on your bed. Do not get on my bed. You stay on your bed."

Works for me.

I would never get rid of her
I groom her 2-3 times a day There's a big square brush and I want all the loose hair gone . i hold up that brush and shake it and comes over for grooming.
.

She hasn't complained about being on the floor so far -I call her and pet her extra.

Nobody said to get rid of her.

By grooming I meant bathing with dog shampoo and using deshedding tools (FURbuster, FURminator). You really shouldn't have to brush the dog everyday. I realize every dog is different, but my mom's GSD barely leaves any hair around as long as it gets brushed once a week.

If you are anything like me what you are allergic to is dander. I'm allergic to cats, but it's not really the cat I am allergic to so much as the dander. I'm not as allergic to cats that get baths (which isn't many) and I was assuming your allergy is similar.
