Thanks for the information. So it's not just water ingestion, but rather depletion of electorlytes that is a key issue.
My little 9lb dachshund/toy poodle mix is battling kidney disease, yet she loves to run around the yard for hours taking several water breaks. After vomiting and collapsing last weekend, her Vet recommended Gatorade for electrolyte replacement. Now if I can only get her to drink it.
