Do you know how much money and time it takes to train a dog like this? He should be docked for all the costs involved IF they let him stay on the job. if educated and "loving" parents can leave a child in a car unattended to die from heat stroke I can certainly understand (but NOT EXCUSE) a police officer leaving a dog in the car. I'm just as busy as the next person but for the life of me I do not understand how anyone could forget a child or dog left in a car.

Anyone without a badge would have already been arrested for animal cruelty, and he should be as well.

It happened here last year also. Deputy put on leave after 2 police dogs die in hot SUV - San Antonio Express-News

Under TX law, killing a police dog is a 3rd degree felony...I'm sure if a civilian had caused the deaths, they would have been charged.

I'd rather see more dead cops and less dead dogs. Particularly over drugs.

You wanna fight the "war on drugs?" Fine tough guy, do it yourself. Don't get innocent animals involved.

RIP Spartacus.

Devastating thing to read. Such a gorgeous and valuable dog, only three years old. This brings me to tears.
